Completed a Furniture Design Craft course at the London College of

In 1983
with final course work piece featured in
Practical Woodworker Magazine.
Headed
as co-founder Administrator, Designer, and Craftsman a successful
Government sponsored toy-manufacturing company producing “multi racial and
cross cultural” wooden toys in 1984 to 1986 receiving private tuition at
the London Business School.
Enrolled Barnet College 04 completing both an NVQ2 and NVQ3 June 05
achieving City and Guilds Wood Occupations Intermediate Award Distinction
and an Advanced Construction Award Credit

Since
1975 I have undertaken all aspects of Carpentry and Joinery
Mainly
as a sub contractor or in a freelance capacity from general carpenter in
my earlier days, to project management, of individual one-off, bespoke
projects, and custom built design craft works, both commercial and
residential.
This
work includes Shuttering, and 1st fix, and 2nd fix,
and finish carpentry and joinery under both workshop and 'insitu'
conditions in my own premises workshops, and in commercial workshops for
various companies.
The
additional skill acquired as a Designer Craftsman, coupled with 25 years +
hands-on experience gives me greater versatility which allows for
innovative solutions in the pursuit of client satisfaction. My experience
giving greater assurance and efficient working practises that lead to
projects to be completed within budgets and schedules.
Most
jobs have required working in close cooperation with Architects and all
the other various building trades including Bricklayers, Electricians,
Plumbers etc, as well as Carpenters, I normally coordinate the building
program with these other trades in my capacity as Foreman/Lead carpenter
and as my experience has taught me, wherever possible in a hands on
capacity.
I
demand high standards in all aspects of the work from the safety of
personnel, to the quality of workmanship. Having a first hand
understanding of problems encountered by trade colleagues is essential,
promoting, efficiency, team spirit, communications, and amicable working
practices between myself and other trades
High
profile projects include: - BBC, the conversion of the then East German
Embassy, The Cadogen Hotel, Fleming’s Hotel, as well as works carried out
on both grade 1 and 2 listed buildings such as The Houses of Parliament
and Canonbury House in Islington, London.
In
addition to those previously mentioned above, additionally I have also
been responsible for the design build of five recording studios one in
Paris, France.
I have
also worked in Holland, The Gambia, and Trinidad and Tobago.
